Leona Emily Cormack 1913 - 2007 Topeka

Topeka - Funeral services for Leona Emily Cormack, 94, Topeka, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at University United Methodist Church in Topeka. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery.Mrs. Cormack died Monday, Oct. 29, 2007, at Rolling Hills Health Center in Topeka.She was born Jan. 7, 1913, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Robert E. and Margaret Ellen Orr Williamson. She graduated from Highland High School in 1932. She lived in the Topeka area before she moved to Nebraska City, Neb., during World War II. She returned to Topeka in 1949.Mrs. Cormack was a member of University United Methodist Church and the Women's Society of Christian Service. She was a volunteer at Doorstep for many years. She enjoyed listening to the Lamplighters and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She married Walter V. Cormack on Aug. 9, 1934, in Nebraska City. He died June 12, 2002. Mrs. Cormack was also preceded in death by a daughter, Judith Anne Cormack Williams Roberson; her parents, Robert and Margaret Williamson; and three brothers, Francis L. "Lefty", Howard E. "Dick" and Robert O. Williamson.Survivors include two sons, Mike Cormack and wife Shirley, Lawrence, and Tom Cormack and wife Barbara, Topeka; six grandchildren, Michael, Jon and Tim Cormack, Mary Ann Williams Cervantez and Joe and James Williams; eight great-grandchildren, Emily, Anna, Jordan, Rachel and Rebekah Cormack, Jessie Moszeter, and Caitlin and Allison Cervantez.Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday at the church before the services.
