Elsie Martin
Graveside services for Elsie M. Martin, 98, Houston, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lawrence. Mrs. Martin died Monday, May 28, 2007, in Houston.She was born Oct. 28, 1908, near Agency, in Buchanan County, Mo., the daughter of James N. Duncan and Jennie E. Powell. She was a longtime resident of Douglas County.She married Robert Martin on April 26, 1933. He died June 19, 1967. She married Charles Earl Martin on July 9, 1978. He died April 10, 2005, in Houston. Survivors include a stepson, Ronald E. Martin and wife Claudette, Houston; four stepgrandchildren, Jeffrey L. Martin, Janiece Decker and Diane Whitney, all of Houston, and Michael Martin, Austin, Texas; seven stepgreat-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and many friends. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence.
