Mass of Christian Burial for Mary G. Angel, 74, Topeka, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Topeka with the Rev. Jerry Volz presiding. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery.Mrs. Angel died Saturday, May 26, 2007, at Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center in Topeka.She was born Nov. 23, 1932, in Williamstown, the daughter of Arthur and Kathryn Navarre Carder.Mrs. Angel worked at National Reserve Life Insurance Co. for many years and later founded Marquee Vending Co. with her husband, Marvin Merillat. After her retirement, she represented Fairmont Foods as a grocery store demonstrator.She was a member of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed activities with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.She married Marvin Merillat in 1954. He died Sept. 6, 1972. She then married William Angel. He died in 1994.Her parents and a brother, Arthur Carder, also died earlier.Survivors include two sons, John Merillat and his partner, Tom Hawkins, Modesto, Calif., and Michael Merillat, Topeka; a daughter, Kimberly Cibulski and husband Josef, Topeka; two sisters, Dorothy Bracken, Topeka, and Donna Lee Reynolds, Medford, Ore.; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.Friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home in Topeka, where the family will receive them from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. A parish vigil prayer service will be at 6 p.m.The family suggests memorials to Midland Hospice Care, sent in care of the funeral home, 800 S.W.
