Melvin L. Coffman

Phoenix – Visitation for Melvin L. Coffman, 75, Phoenix, will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. today at A.L. Moore Grimshaw Mortuary in Phoenix.Mr. Coffman died Wednesday, May 2, 2007.He was born Nov. 11, 1931, in Lawrence, the son of Alfred and Ivareen Beer Coffman. He grew up and attended schools in Lawrence.Mr. Coffman served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked for 45 years as a heavy equipment operator and instructor until he retired in 1991. He was a Shriner and a member of Operating Engineer Local No. 101.He was married to Shirley LaDuke for 53 years. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include two sons, Jay and Eddy; two daughters, Alesia Munsell and Amy Gorman; a brother, Dale; a sister, Doris Toyne; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild.The family suggests memorials to the Arizona Heart Association or Arizona Humane Society, sent in care of the mortuary, 710 W. Bethany Home Road, Phoenix, AZ 85313.
