McPherson - Services for Robert B. Hapgood, 65, McPherson, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in McPherson. Burial will be at McPherson Cemetery.Mr. Hapgood died Tuesday, May 1, 2007, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.He was born Oct. 24, 1941, in McPherson, the son of Francis Byron and Edna C. Hornberger Hapgood. He graduated from McPherson High School in 1959. He also attended Hutchinson Junior College and McPherson College.Mr. Hapgood had been an announcer and salesman for radio station KNEX, later KNGL/KBBE, in McPherson since 1968. He was a member and board member of the Kansas Music Hall of Fame. He was leader, founder, drummer and member of the King Midas Band. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in McPherson and attended Grace Lutheran Church in McPherson.He married A. Jeanne Esau on Nov. 13, 1963, in Lindsborg. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include two sons, Anthony "Tony," Kansas City, Mo., and Robert "Bobby," Lawrence; and two sisters, Sandra Lee Stapleton, McPherson, and Arlone Wilson, Greenville, Miss.Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Glidden-Ediger Chapel in McPherson, where the family will receive them from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today.The family suggests memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church or the Kansas Music Hall of Fame, sent in care of Glidden-Ediger Funeral Home, 222 W.
