Memorial services for Philip C. Lacey, 57, McPherson, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at McPherson Free Methodist Church. Private graveside services will be in McPherson Cemetery before the services.Mr. Lacey died Thursday, March 29, 2007, at Memorial Hospital in McPherson.He was born Dec. 8, 1949, in Lawrence, the son of Charles E. and Ruthanne Finley Lacey. He graduated from Lawrence High School in 1967, Kansas University in 1971 and KU law school in 1974.Mr. Lacey worked as an attorney for Gilmore & Bell, P.C. in Wichita. He served as McPherson city attorney since 1976 and was an attorney with Bremyer & Wise law firm. He was a member of New Hope Evangelical Church and the church worship team, Central Christian College of Kansas Board of Trustees, the Kansas Bar Association, National Association of Bond Lawyers and City Attorneys Association of Kansas, where he served as president from 1990 to 1991.He married Sharylyn S. Gelvin on Aug. 16, 1970, in Lawrence. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include his mother, Lawrence; two sons, Jason, Wichita, and Bryson, Manhattan; a daughter, Alexia Lacey, Colorado Springs, Colo.; a brother, Bruce, San Anselmo, Calif.; and a sister, Jean Pollock, Middleboro, Mass.Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Stockham Family Funeral Home in McPherson, where the family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.The family suggests memorials to New Hope Evangelical Church or Central Christian College of Kansas, sent in care of the funeral home, 205 N.
