Stanley T. House

Funeral services for Stanley T. House, 84, Eudora, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Centenary United Methodist Church. Graveside services with military honors will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Mr. House died Monday, March 26, 2007, at Eudora Nursing Center.He was born Dec. 8, 1922, in Topeka, the son of Thomas and Olive Phillips House. He graduated from Liberty Memorial High School and attended two years of business college.Mr. House worked as a postal clerk with the U.S. post office. He was a 70-year member of Centenary United Methodist Church and was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, American Legion Dorsey-Liberty Post No. 14 and the Autumn Club.He married Agnes V. Spitzli on July 30, 1944, in Lawrence. She died Jan. 8, 2007. Other survivors include two daughters, Helen Sue Seetin and Nancy Cornelius, both of Lawrence; four sons, Stanley E. and Fred, both of Kansas City, Kan., Ron D., Norman, Okla., and Kent, Gardner; 10 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Helen House, Lorraine Barnes, Margaret Holstrom and Jackie Speakman; a brother, Phillip; and a grandson, Daniel W. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. The family suggests memorials to the church or Habitat for Humanity, sent in care of the mortuary.
