Georgia "Arlene" Alford 1920 - 2007 Lawrence
A memorial service for Georgia "Arlene" Alford, Lawrence, formerly of Memphis, Tenn., will be March 31 in Somerville, Tenn.Mrs. Alford died Friday, March 16, 2007, at Lawrence Presbyterian Manor.She was born July 4, 1920, in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of Vongo and Katherine Lucus Stanley.She married Joseph F. Alford. They had been married for 50 years at the time of his death in 1989.Survivors include two sons, the Rev. Joe Alford, former Episcopal chaplain at Canterbury House at Kansas University, now of Covington, Tenn., and David Alford, Somerville, Tenn.; and three grandchildren, Sarah and David Trowbridge-Alford and Addison Alford.The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at the Ecumenical Christian Ministry.The family suggests memorials be sent to the Episcopal Diocese of West Tennessee, 692 Poplar Ave., Memphis, TN 38105.Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
