Ruby Elinor Murray Watson

Parker – Graveside services for Ruby Elinor Murray Watson, 101, Baldwin City, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Parker Cemetery.Mrs. Watson died Wednesday, March 7, 2007, at Baldwin Care Center.She was born June 8, 1905, in Lebanon, Kan., the daughter of William and Gertrude Murray. She was the oldest of their eight daughters and grew up and attended schools in Osawatomie. She lived near Parker for many years and had lived in Baldwin City since 1955.Mrs. Watson enjoyed sewing, reading, crocheting and knitting. She sold many of the items she sewed and knitted out of her home. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and helping her husband, Ross, raise his younger brother, Bill.She married Ross Watson in November 1923. They shared more than 64 years of marriage. He died in April 1988.Survivors include a daughter, Wilma Foulke and husband Bill, Baldwin City; three grandsons, Jeff Walter, Chelan, Wash., Pat Walter, Baldwin City, and Jerry Watson, Ottawa; 10 great-grandchildren and many great-great-grandchildren.Mrs. Watson was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Vernon Watson; a brother-in-law, Bill Watson; two grandsons, Anthony Lavern Walter and Larry Watson; and seven sisters.The family suggests memorials to Baldwin Care Center, sent in care of Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, P.O.
