Mary E. Schnacke 1928 - 2007 Lawrence
Memorial services for Mary E. Schnacke, 78, Lawrence, will be at 5 p.m. Monday at St. James Anglican Catholic Church in Kansas City, Mo.Mrs. Schnacke died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2007, in Lawrence.She was born Nov. 17, 1928, in Sioux Falls, S.D., the daughter of Henry and Gladys Ecker Snyder. She grew up in Topeka, where she attended Topeka High School and Washburn University. She lived in Kansas City, Kan., Overland Park and Lawrence.Mrs. Schnacke was a member of St. James Anglican Catholic Church, where she served as people's warden, rector's warden and diocesan treasurer.She married Philip H. Schnacke in 1947. He preceded her in death.Mrs. Schnacke also was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Duckendorf; and a brother, Henry Alan Snyder.Survivors include a son, Jim Schnacke and wife Becky, Merriam; a daughter, Cyd Schnacke, Lawrence; a brother, Richard Snyder and wife Nobu; two grandchildren, Althea and Ace Schnacke; and a great-granddaughter, Abie Schnacke.The family will receive friends after the services at the church.Maple Hill Funeral Home in Kansas City, Kan., is in charge of arrangements.
