Charles Thomas “Charlie” Myers

El Dorado – A celebration of life for Charles Thomas “Charlie” Myers, 26, El Dorado, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church in El Dorado. Entombment will follow in Belle Vista Mausoleum.Mr. Myers died Sunday, June 3, 2007, in the Hospital Faculty Bulovka, in Prague, Czech Republic.He was born Jan. 29, 1981, in El Dorado, the son of Marc and Nancy Strafer Myers.Mr. Myers attended El Dorado schools and graduated from El Dorado High School in 1999. He attended Kansas University, where he was a Beta Theta Pi, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in business administration in 2003. He attended Thunderbird University International School of Finance in Phoenix and was working toward a master’s degree in business administration. He was in Prague to begin a four-week international program affiliated with Thunderbird University. He was an avid basketball player and a member of the El Dorado High School state runner-up team in 1998. He also ran cross country at the state level. He enjoyed sports, especially basketball, and aspired to work for an NBA franchise. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in El Dorado. Survivors include his father, Marc Myers, El Dorado; two brothers, George and wife Keri, El Dorado, and Max and wife Janie, Edmond, Okla.; and six nieces and nephews, Grace, Trey, Guy, Alice, Max James and Alexander.He was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Strafer Myers.The family suggests memorials to Partners in Education, for an annual scholarship to a high school student in Charlie’s name, sent in care of Kirby-Morris Funeral Home, 224 W.
