Inez Malone

A funeral Mass for Inez Malone, 94, Chase, will be at 3 p.m. Friday at St. Paul Catholic Church in Lyons. Burial will be in Lyons Municipal Cemetery.Mrs. Malone died Thursday, July 26, 2007, at Schowalter Villa in Hesston.She was born April 17, 1913, in rural Ellinwood, the daughter of John and Mae Arensdorf Klepper. She was raised on a farm north of Ellinwood. She lived on a farm south of Chase for more than 60 years.Mrs. Malone worked at Boeing in Wichita during World War II. She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars. She was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and often had an officer’s position in Altar Society. She enjoyed playing pinochle, bridge and pitch, and was a member of several card clubs.She married Harold P. Malone on Sept. 15, 1941. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Malone was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Frank, Ronald and LeRoy; and three sisters, Katherine Heagler, Elvera Martin and Mary Ann Kowalsky.Survivors include two sons, Mike Malone and wife Barbara, Lawrence, and Terry Malone and wife Gretchen, Dodge City; three daughters, Connie Smith, Lake Kahola, Carmen Razook and husband Bob, Wichita, and Brenda Malone, San Ramon, Calif.; two brothers, Norman Klepper and wife June, and Maurice Klepper and wife Evelyn, all of Ellinwood; a sister, Betty Schmidt and husband Lloyd, Kimberling City, Mo.; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.A parish rosary will be recited at 2 p.m. Friday at the church before the funeral Mass.The family suggests memorials to Schowalter Villa, sent in care of Birzer-Sillin Funeral Home, P.O.
