Ina Uhlrich

Mass of Christian Burial for Ina Uhlrich, 97, Olathe, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph of the Valley Church in Easton. Interment will be in St. Thomas Cemetery in Springdale.Mrs. Uhlrich died Tuesday, July 17, 2007, at Johnson County Nursing Center in Olathe.She was born Jan. 12, 1910, in Easton, the daughter of Peter and Anna Nyhart Beying. She attended Kansas State Teacher’s College in Emporia.Mrs. Uhlrich worked in a radio factory in Atchison and taught for 13 years in rural schools in Leavenworth County. She was a homemaker and enjoyed her family, canning, sewing, reading, keeping a diary and going to community dances with her husband. She was an avid gardener who enjoyed the outdoors. She was a leader in the Green Promise 4-H Club in Leavenworth County, a religious education teacher at St. Joseph of the Valley Catholic Church in rural Leavenworth County and an election volunteer.She married Joseph Uhlrich. They were married for 48 years. He died in 1994.She was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Eugene “Gene” Beying and wife Cecilia; two sisters, Margaret Noll “Margie” and husband Leo, and Mildred Bowers; two sisters-in-law, Eulalia and Mary Ellenita Uhlrich; three brothers-in-law, Bernard and Lawrence Uhlrich, and Ramond Schrick, Nortonville.Survivors include her twin sister, Nina Schrick, Nortonville; a daughter, Rosemary Pratt and husband, Dennis, Ottawa; two sons, Charles Uhlrich and wife Clara, Raytown, Mo., and David Uhrlich, McLouth; a brother-in-law, Fred Bowers, Cowgill, Mo.; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Uhlrich, Lawrence; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.Friends may call from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Belden-Larkin Memorial Chapel in Leavenworth, where the family will receive them from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a rosary said at 7 p.m. Friday.The family suggests memorials to St. Joseph of the Valley Church, P.O.
