B. Louise Hornberger

Funeral services for B. Louise Hornberger, 86, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in Clinton Cemetery in Clinton.Mrs. Hornberger died Tuesday, July 17, 2007, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.She was born May 25, 1921, in Lawrence, the daughter of Fred Moreland and Teresa Helen Murphy Baldwin. She attended grade school in Clinton and graduated from Liberty Memorial High School in 1939. She attended Kansas University.Mrs. Hornberger worked at Independent Laundry & Dry Cleaners in Lawrence and then for Hallmark Cards for 18 years in the Quality Assurance Department before she retired. She then served as a nutrition specialist for Douglas County for five years and a senior citizen meal site manager for six years. She also helped deliver commodities.She was a member of Worden United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible School. She was also a member of the Douglas County Extension Council, Extension Homemaker’s Unit and a 4-H leader with the Worden Workers.Mrs. Hornberger married Fremont W. Hornberger on Sept. 6, 1942, in Clinton. He died Sept. 12, 2006.She was also preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Lena Rose Baldwin.Survivors include two sons, Steve, Lawrence, and Bob, Clarendon, Texas; a brother, Moreland Baldwin, Clinton; five grandchildren, Jason, Ryan and Jeff Hornberger, Leslie Miller and Jordan Bass; and four great-grandchildren, Lindsey, Sydnee, Luke and Rylee.Friends may call from noon until 9 p.m. today at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, where the family will receive them from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. today.The family suggests memorials to the Douglas County 4-H Foundation, sent in care of the funeral home, P.O.
