William Thomas Corcoran 1913 - 2007 Mission, Kan.
Mass of Christian burial for William Thomas Corcoran, 93, Mission, Kan., will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Raytown.Mr. Corcoran died Friday, July 13, 2007.He was born Nov. 29, 1913, in Lawrence, Kan., the son of Thomas Martin and Edna Mae Weinberg Corcoran. He graduated from Kansas University in 1935.Mr. Corcoran was a veteran of World War II. He started his career as an accountant with the William Pesman firm and retired as secretary-controller for Francis Gee Garment Co. in 1982. He lived with his family in Kansas City, Mo. He had been a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church since 1952 and served on many committees and as a Eucharistic minister. He was a member of Knights of Columbus and received the Bishop's Award in February 1995 for his work in the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph, Mo.He married Dorothy Lillian Cox on May 30, 1941. She preceded him in death.Two infant sons also preceded him in death.Survivors include five sons, John, Paul, Tom, Jim and Mark; four daughters, Ann Corcoran, Sue Anderson, Kay Roberts and Jane Miscannon; 28 grandchildren; and five great-grandsons.The family will receive friends at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the church, where a rosary will be said at 10 a.m.The family suggests memorials to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 7009 Blue Ridge Blvd., Raytown, MO 64133.
