Roselore "Lore" Bateman 1925 - 2007 Perry
Perry - Graveside services for Roselore "Lore" Bateman, 82, Perry, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Buster Cemetery, northeast of Perry.Ms. Bateman died Tuesday, June 26, 2007, at her home.She was born May 15, 1925, in Dusseldorf, Germany, the daughter of Richard Paul and Frieda Ella Baehsler Kretzschmar. She graduated from the Evangelical Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing in Detroit in 1946. She moved to Perry from Oskaloosa in 1978.Ms. Bateman was a registered nurse for Jefferson County Memorial Hospital in Winchester, Wadsworth VA Hospital in Leavenworth and Colmery-O'Neil VA Medical Center in Topeka.She married Ross Blair Bateman on Sept. 13, 1947, in Topeka. He died March 11, 1996.Survivors include two sons, Kent Bateman, Perry, and Shawn Bateman, Harrisonville, Mo.; three daughters, Shannon Whitehead, Ellicott City, Md., Suzanne Bateman, Grantville, and Kendra Marcantel, Arlington, Texas; and eight grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Barnett-Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Oskaloosa.The family suggests memorials to the Jefferson County Humane Society, sent in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 416, Oskaloosa 66066.
