Dorothy J. Ray 1934 - 2007

Services for Dorothy J. Ray, 72, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.Mrs. Ray died Friday, Jan. 26, 2007, at her home.She was born July 4, 1934, in Missouri, the daughter of John and Elizabeth Hammond Hardister. She lived in Lawrence for most of her life.Mrs. Ray worked at Honeywell for 24 years. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.She married Donald J. Ray on July 9, 1949, in Winchester. He survives, of the home.Other survivors include three daughters, Connie Engle and husband Randall, Kansas City, Mo., and Debbie Mendoza and Cheryl Post, both of Lawrence; a brother, John Hardister, Lawrence; a sister, Patti Allen, St. Joseph, Mo.; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents.Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will receive them from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.The family suggests memorials to Southern Care Hospice, sent in care of the funeral home.Online condolences may be sent at <a href="http://www.rumsey-yost.com">www.rumsey-yost.com</a>.
