Rose Aligo

Hoboken, N.J. – Services for Rose Aligo, 88, Tonganoxie, Kan., will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Francis Church in Hoboken, N.J. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, N.J.Mrs. Aligo died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007, in Tonganoxie.She was born Jan. 1, 1919, in Jersey City, N.J., the daughter of Michael and Pasquiline Marianucci.Mrs. Aligo was an active member of St. Francis Church and school and was president of the Mothers Guild. She volunteered for Deborah Heart and Lung Hospital for 30 years and Senior City Center for 25 years. She was also active in the Hoboken High School football booster club and started the Columbus-Columbettes Club of Hoboken.She married Dominick “Dick” Aligo on Feb. 8, 1943, in Jersey City, N.J. He died in 1981.Mrs. Aligo was also preceded in death by her stepfather, Philemina Gentile.Survivors include two sons, Richard Aligo, Texas, Gerard Aligo, Kansas; two stepsisters, Millie Truncale and Maggie Napoleon; and three grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Failla Memorial Home in Hoboken.The family suggests memorials to the church, sent in care of the memorial home, 533 Willow Avenue, Hoboken, NJ 07030.
