Leonard Eugene Bennett 1921 - 2007 Dodge City
A celebration of life and potluck dinner for Leonard Eugene Bennett, 85, Dodge City, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, at Garnett Senior Center. Mr. Bennett died Friday, Jan. 12, 2007, at Kansas State Soldiers' Home near Dodge City.He was born July 24, 1921, in Quitman, Texas, the son of Thomas M. and Lorene Bennett. He was a former resident of Lawrence and Garnett.Mr. Bennett served in the U.S. Navy during World War II on the USS Mayo.Survivors include a daughter, Linda Rickman, Kansas City, Kan.; two brothers, three sisters; three grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.Park Lawn Funeral Home in Kansas City, Mo., is in charge of arrangements.
