Harold A. Morley

Services for Harold A. Morley, 86, Eudora, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary-Eudora Chapel. Burial will be in Hesper Cemetery.Mr. Morley died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2007, at Eudora Nursing Center. He was born Sept. 30, 1920, in Longford, the son of Walter and Tina Cunningham Morley. He lived in the Eudora area for 70 years.Mr. Morley served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Japan. He worked at the Kansas University Medical Center for 14 years and retired in 1985. He owned and operated Harold’s Repair for 35 years and drove a school bus in Eudora for many years. He was a 38-year volunteer for the Eudora Fire Department. He was a member of the Eudora United Methodist Church and the International Order of the Odd Fellows in Eudora.He married Lela Votaw on Dec. 23, 1939, in Columbia, Mo. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include two sons, Donald “Don” and wife Rebecca, Tucson, Ariz., and Robert “Bob” and wife Isla, Covina, Calif.; a sister, Alice Andrew, Gardner; seven grandchildren, Douglas, Dondee, Vicki, James, Sheila, Jonathan and Emily; and 11 great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday at the chapel.The family suggests memorials to the Eudora Fire Department, sent in care or Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence or Eudora.
