Kenneth M. Rodvelt

Everest – Funeral services for Kenneth M. Rodvelt, 69, Horton, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Zion Lutheran Church in Everest. Burial will be in the church cemetery.Mr. Rodvelt died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2007. He was born on July 5, 1937, in Horton, the son of Andrew and Anna Molt Rodvelt. He graduated from Powhattan High School in 1956. Mr. Rodvelt farmed with his brother, Carl, for years and later worked for the City of Horton in the maintenance department. He also worked at the Golden Eagle Casino as a security guard. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and a former member of Hiawatha Elks Lodge and Topeka Moose Lodge.He married Sharon Hurt on Dec. 15, 1973, in Everest. She survives, of the home. Other survivors include three sons, Brian Hurt, Quincy, Ill., and Matthew and Andrew Rodvelt, both of Lawrence; a daughter, Jennifer Hallissey, Stamford, Conn.; and a grandchild.The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton.
