Donald D. Haima

Graveside services for Donald Duane “Coach” Haima, 49, Ozawkie, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lawrence.Mr. Haima died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2007, at his home, of complications from diabetes.He was born Oct. 20, 1957, in Waynesville, Mo., the son of Melvin and Charlotte Roach Bone. He graduated from Eudora High School in 1975 and then moved to Ozawkie.Mr. Haima worked as assistant manager of Pladium and manager of Pladium Plus in Lawrence. He drove cabs for Yellow Cab and A-1 City Cab in Lawrence and held a variety of other jobs over the years. He was a volunteer basketball and baseball coach for the Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department from 1991 to 1997 and resigned because of declining health.He married Linda Willis on Nov. 15, 1981. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include his parents, Melvin and Charlotte Bone, Lawrence; two sons, Donald D. Jr., Lawrence, and, Johnathan A., of the home; a daughter, Kristina Elisa Shatswell and husband Craig, Lawrence; and two grandchildren, Abigale and Kali Shatswell.Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home in Lawrence, where the family will receive them from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.The family suggests memorials to the Donald D.
