Gretchen M. Haehl

Funeral services for Gretchen M. Haehl, 91, Lawrence, will be at noon Friday at Trinity Episcopal Church. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Haehl died Monday, Jan. 8, 2007, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. She was born Oct. 28, 1915, in Crawford, Neb., the daughter of Earl and Joan Kendrick Fosket. She moved from San Diego to Lawrence in 1963.Mrs. Haehl was a former abstracter and co-owner of Douglas County Abstract & Title Company. She retired in 1994. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and Soroptimist International Club, both in Lawrence, Kansas Land Title Association and a former member of Job’s Daughters and Order of Eastern Star in Wyoming.She married Chez J. Haehl on July 8, 1949 in Reno, Nev. He died July 17, 2001. Survivors include three sons, Earl L. and Greg D. Haehl, both of Lawrence, and J. Stanley Haehl, of the home; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.The family will receive friends from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
