Agnes V. House

Funeral services for Agnes V. House, 82, Eudora, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Mrs. House died Monday, Jan. 8, 2007, at Eudora Nursing Center.She was born May 4, 1924, in Eudora, the daughter of Otto and Myra Barricklow Spitzli. She graduated from Liberty Memorial High School in Lawrence and attended two years of business college.Mrs. House was a retired cook and nutritional planner. She worked for 13 years at the Raney Drug Store lunch counter and 11 years in the United Child Development Center at First United Methodist Church.She was a 55-year member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Lawrence and a member of National Association of Retired Federal Employees Auxiliary and Autumn Club. She also was a member and former officer of United Methodist Women at the church. She married Stanley T. House on July 30, 1944, in Lawrence. He survives, of the home. Other survivors include two daughters, Helen Sue Seetin and Nancy Cornelius, both of Lawrence; four sons, Stanley E. House and Fred House, both of Kansas City, Kan., Ron D. House, Norman, Okla., and Kent House, Gardner; nine grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. House was preceded in death by a grandson, Daniel W. House. The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary. The family suggests memorials to the church, sent in care of the mortuary.
