Edward E. “Tyker” Brass

Albuquerque, N.M. – Memorial services for Edward E. “Tyker” Brass, 78, Albuquerque, will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday at French Mortuary’s Lomas Chapel in Albuquerque. Inurnment will be later at Santa Fe National Cemetery.Mr. Brass died Monday, Jan. 8, 2007.He was born Sept. 8, 1928, in Lawrence, Kan., the son of Edward B. and Martha Beaunice Brass. He graduated from Kansas University, where he was a member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. He had lived in Albuquerque since 1957.Mr. Brass served in the U.S. Air Force as a captain. He was a decorated veteran and flew transport planes in Korea during the Korean War. He worked at Sandia National Laboratories for 32 years and retired in 1989.During retirement he was a docent at the Rio Grande Zoo, a member of the Coronado Wolfpack and an election judge.He and his wife, Doris J. Brass, had been married for 56 years. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include a son, Eric, Omaha, Neb.; a daughter, Anne E. Silva, Belen; and two grandchildren.The family will receive friends at the family home after the services.
