Omer H. Cline 1929 - 2007 McLouth

Funeral services for Omer H. Cline, 77, rural McLouth, will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Barnett-Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Oskaloosa. Burial will be in Fall Creek Cemetery near Jarbalo.Mr. Cline died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2007, at his home.He was born Feb. 26, 1929, in Bethel, Ky., the son of Walter Van and Susan Jones Cline. He attended Weston (Mo.) High School. He lived in rural McLouth since 1988.Mr. Cline served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War as a corporal and air flight engineer. He was a supervisor and lead man for McDonnell-Douglas Aircraft Co., both in Long Beach and Torrance, Calif., for 34 years and retired in 1987. He formerly worked at American Motors in Kansas City, Kan. He was a member of the McDonnell-Douglas Management Club and Palo Verde, Calif., Wildlife Rod and Gun Club.He married Gertrude Florence Schlonga on Aug. 26, 1950, in Troy. She died June 17, 1993.Survivors include a son, Jody H., Ehrenburg, Ariz.; a daughter, Colleen Emma Cline, McLouth; a brother, Robert Cline, Leavenworth; three sisters, Annabelle Chartier, Leavenworth, Opal Florence Welch, McLouth, and Lila Ruth Strubble, Tallahassee, Fla.; and three grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday before the services at the funeral home.The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association, American Lung Association or Jefferson County Hospice, sent in care of the funeral home, P.O.
