Helen K. Boltz
Dover – A memorial service for Helen K. Boltz, 97, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Dover Federated Church in Dover.Mrs. Boltz died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2007, at her home.She was born March 27, 1909, in Topeka, the daughter of Alfred T. and Ethel Moneypenny Cross. She lived most of her life in Topeka, until moving at age 89 to live with her daughter and son-in-law near Keene.She graduated from Highland Park High School and worked as a comptometer operator for Southwestern Bell. In later years she was a cook at Highland Park Junior High School.She was a member of Highland Park Methodist Church for many years and later was a member of Dover Federated Church.Mrs. Boltz was a member of the champion Topeka Aces basketball team, sponsored by Trinity Lutheran Church in Topeka. She and her husband had season tickets to Kansas University basketball for more than 60 years. While in her 80s, she took up using the computer.She married William H. Boltz on Sept. 9, 1934. He died Dec. 29, 1992. Survivors include two daughters, Mary M.
