Floyd Junior “Bud” King

McLouth – Funeral services for Floyd Junior “Bud” King, 82, McLouth, will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at McLouth United Methodist Church. Private burial will be in McLouth Cemetery.Mr. King died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007, at his home. He was born Jan. 13, 1925, in Oskaloosa, the son of Floyd and Kate Hoskinson King. He was a 1943 graduate of Oskaloosa High School and was a lifelong resident of the area.Mr. King was a founding partner of King’s Construction Co. in Oskaloosa and was active with the company from 1947 to 2007.Mr. King served in the Merchant Marines and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Topeka. He was a member of McLouth United Methodist Church, and a member and past master of Masonic Lodge No. 14 A.F. & A.M. in Oskaloosa. He served on the McLouth board of education for 16 years.He married Dorothy Geraldine “Gerre” Trudell on Jan. 9, 1948, in Colorado Springs, Colo. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include two sons, Dan and Kent Allen, both of Oskaloosa, two daughters, Gail King Thomas, Oskaloosa, and Kristin King Dillard, Olathe; a sister, Veral Hufnagel and husband Ernie, Lennox, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Dorothy King, Oskaloosa; 15 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. A brother, Duane, and a sister, Elizabeth Williams, died earlier.The family will meet friends from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday before services at the church.The family suggests memorials to the McLouth United Methodist Church Building fund, the Jefferson County Friends of Hospice or to an organization of the donor’s choice, sent in care of Barnett-Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, P.O.
