Frankie Beatrice "Frankie Bea" "Madea" Smith Murph 1933 - 2007 Leavenworth

Memorial services for Frankie Beatrice "Frankie Bea" "Madea" Smith Murphy Stone, 73, will be 11 a.m. Monday at Bethel AME Church in Leavenworth with the Rev. Betty Hanna-Whiterspoon officiating. A second memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Camden, Ark., with the Rev. H. Earl Anderson officiating. Mrs. Stone died Monday, Jan. 29, 2007, at St. John Hospital.She was born June 6, 1933, in Camden, Texas, the daughter of Jerry and Carrie Turner Smith. She then moved to Camden, Ark. She attended school in Camden and was a licensed practical nurse.Mrs. Stone retired from nursing after 33 years. She was baptized at an early age and remained a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. She later joined Bethel AME Church and remained under watch care. She was a breast cancer survivor. She enjoyed cooking and collecting cookbooks.She married Cleveland Murphy Sr. in 1949. He died in 1983. She married Robert K. Stone in 1989. They lived in Camden, Ark., and Leavenworth. He died in 1996. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Oliver Perry Smith and Bill Turner; and a son, Marcus Murphy Sr. Survivors include a son, Cleveland Murphy and wife Evelyn; a daughter, Brenda Highsmith and husband Robert; a daughter in-law, Rebecca Murphy; a sister, Jerry Lee Flynn; a sister in-law, Helen Smith; six grandchildren, Millicent, Darius and Roderick Highsmith, Denise and Crystal Smith, and Damian, Marcus, Jr., Brian and Ryan Murphy; three great-grandchildren, Ciara Potts, Ravyn and Darius II Highsmith; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
