Bob Nehrbass

A memorial service for Bob Nehrbass, 74, Perry, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Church of the Nazarene in Lawrence. Burial will be later.Mr. Nehrbass died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2007, at his home after a lengthy illness.He was born Nov. 21, 1933, in Missouri, the son of Marl and Fredia Watson Nehrbass. He graduated from Lawrence High School in 1951.Mr. Nehrbass was a lifetime dairy, grain and produce farmer. He was a chartered Co-op member and was affiliated with First Church of the Nazarene. After he retired he enjoyed attending bluegrass festivals and spending winters in Texas.He married Bernice Spence on Aug. 12, 1955, in Lawrence. They shared 51 years of marriage. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include a son, Charles, Lecompton; two sisters, Gypsy Dean and husband Don, Diamond, Mo., and Patricia Green and husband Dick, Columbia, Mo.; a brother, Richard, Lyndon; a brother-in-law, Bernie Spence and wife Shirley, Bay City, Texas; a sister-in-law, Alta Slack and husband Gail, Springfield, Ohio; two grandchildren, Amber and Brandi Barnhardt, and three great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Curry and Madison and Eric Barnhardt, all of Winchester; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.Mr. Nehrbass was preceded in death by his parents.The family suggests memorials to the church, 1470 N. 1000 Road, Lawrence 66046.
