Richard Frank “Papa Dick” France

Services for Richard Frank “Papa Dick” France, 80, Kansas City, Kan., will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Holy Family Catholic Church in Eudora. Burial will be in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery.Mr. France died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007, at Kansas University Hospital in Kansas City, Kan. He was born July 27, 1927, in Buffalo, N.Y. He moved to Kansas in 1971. He had been a longtime employee of Therm-I-Tec Insulation in Kansas City, Kan. Mr. France was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and also had been a Merchant Marine.Survivors include his wife, Jeanne Alyce Maher France, of the home; a son, Patrick France, Cowlesville, N.Y.; six daughters, Mary Cole, Theresa Meyers, Judith Rase, Doris Hamilton, Eunice Smith, Renee Kindall; 14 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Irene Scranton. A son, Daniel France, died in 2000.A rosary service will be at 9 a.m. Monday at the church, where the family will greet friends until the service at 11 a.m. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Cancer Center of Kansas University at the Kansas University Hospital, sent in care of Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, 214 Oak St., Bonner Springs, KS 66012.
