Dwight E. Regnier

Memorial services for Dwight E. Regnier, 76, Prescott, Ariz., will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Lawrence Wesleyan Church.Mr. Regnier died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2007, in Prescott, after a long illness.He was born Feb. 25, 1931, in Miltonvale, the son of Emile and Bernice Regnier. He was a former resident of Lawrence.Mr. Regnier served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a master sergeant and was a decorated veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was one of the few survivors of the Chosan Reservoir Battle in Korea. He worked for many years under the State Department directly with the Vietnamese people.He later worked with the Seventh-Day Adventist Church and educated young soldiers at bases throughout the country on health and temperance issues.Survivors include his wife, Jeanne; a son, Bob Ellis; a daughter, April Siegwolf and husband Rolf; two brothers, Les and wife June, and Larry and wife Candice; six grandchildren, Tim, Jerry and Andrew Siegwolf, and Olivia, Mark and Hannah Ellis; a great-grandson, Alexander; three nieces, Tammy, Dottie and Cheryl; and a nephew, Steve.Mr. Regnier was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ivan.The family suggests memorials to Adventist Development and Relief Agency, 12501 Old Columbia Pike, Silver Spring, MD 20904 or www.adra.org.
