Audrey E. Hoobler

Mound Valley – Graveside services for Audrey E. Hoobler, 96, will be at 2 p.m. today in Mound Valley Cemetery.Mrs. Hoobler died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2007, at Oswego Nursing and Rehabilitation.She was born May 21, 1911, in Mound Valley, the daughter of Harry H. and Mary Susan Hoffman Hartman. She graduated from Mound Valley High School in 1930.Mrs. Hoobler worked at Berry Garment Company as a seamstress. She was also a homemaker. She was a member of Oswego United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and a past president of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Bryant Sykes Post 3399.She married Everett Hoobler on Dec. 22, 1930, in Labette County. He died Nov. 15, 1993.Survivors include two sons, Marvin Hoobler and wife Colene, Oswego, and Lloyd Hoobler and wife Joanne, Lawrence; a daughter, Mary J. Chapin and husband Charlie, Rockport, Texas; five grandchildren, Penny Addis, Vicki Willems, Robert Chapin, and Chad and Bradley Hoobler; eight great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and many friends.The family suggests memorials to Oswego United Methodist Church, sent in care of Murdock Funeral Home, 203 Illinois St., Oswego, KS 67356.
