Funeral services for Wayne D. Scott, 97, Wellsville, will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Wilson’s Funeral Home in Wellsville. Burial will follow in Wellsville Cemetery.Mr. Scott died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2007, at Ottawa Retirement Village.He was born April 19, 1910, in rural LeLoup, the son of Carl and Pearl Eckerson Scott. He attended Pleasant Valley grade school and graduated from Wellsville High School in 1930. He was a longtime resident of the Pleasant Valley community.Mr. Scott was a lifelong farmer and helped build the Santa Fe Railroad tracks in the Pleasant Valley area. He was a member of Wellsville United Methodist Church. He enjoyed playing baseball in his youth and was an avid fisherman. He also enjoyed gardening, shelling and selling walnuts, and watching and attending sports events, especially his great-grandchildren’s games and those played at Wellsville High School.Mr. Scott married Mildred Miller on Sept. 3, 1932, in Harrisonville, Mo. They shared 71 years of marriage. She died in 2004.He was also preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Lula Scott; a brother, Raymond; and an infant sister, Nadine.Survivors include a daughter, Wanda Good and husband Wayne, Wellsville; two grandchildren; Denise and Scott Good; three great-grandchildren, Machelle, Whitney and Kyle Good; and many nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.The family suggests memorials to the Wellsville High School Alumni Scholarship Fund, Pleasant Valley Historical Society or Wellsville United Methodist Church, sent in care of the funeral home, P.O.
