Lucille Bowden 1920 - 2007 Crandon
Inurnment services for Lucille Bowden, 87, Crandon, will be at a later date. Burial will be in Mount Vernon Cemetery in Cole County, Mo.Mrs. Bowden died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2007, in Crandon.She was born Dec. 29, 1920, in the Dakota Territory, the daughter of Issac and Anne Carter. Mrs. Bowden worked as a finisher at a photo studio in Jefferson City, Mo., and a cook at Magnolia Inn in Columbia, Mo. She was a waitress at the Holiday Inn in downtown Topeka, Kan., and a homemaker for many years in Perry, Kan.She married Kenneth Bowden. He preceded her in death.Mrs. Bowden was also preceded in death by five brothers, four sisters and a granddaughter, Dusty.Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Rose, Wisconsin, and Pam Bowden, Kansas; five sons, Kenneth Jr., Larry, Steven and Daniel Bowden, and Gene Carter, all of Missouri; two sisters, Myrtle Pfeffer, Lecompton, Kan., and Edna Block, Liberal, Kan.; 14 grandchildren, Crystal, Brant, Dallas, George, Steven, Michael, Shawn, Stacy, Corey, Angie, Danny, Lee, Christopher and Cheryl; and many great-grandchildren.The family suggests memorials to Meals on Wheels of Shawnee and Jefferson Counties Inc., 1500 S.W. 10th St., Topeka, KS 66604.
