Dorothy F. Trapp

Funeral services for Dorothy F. Trapp, 89, Oskaloosa, will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church of McLouth. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery in Oskaloosa.Mrs. Trapp died Sunday, Aug. 26, 2007, at Jefferson County Geriatrics Center in Winchester.She was born Dec. 5, 1917, in St. Croix Falls, Wis., the daughter of George and Josephine Jessie Warmker. She graduated from Eudora High School in 1935. She had lived in Oskaloosa since 1943. She was also a former Miss Lawrence.Mrs. Trapp was a homemaker and worked as a telephone operator. She was a member of McLouth First Baptist Church and American Legion Auxiliary Unit 36 in Oskaloosa. She was known as the “Happy Whistler” and performed for many years at nursing homes and events in Jefferson and Douglas counties.She married Homer F. Trapp on Dec. 5, 1943, in Eudora. He died Aug. 21, 1987.Survivors include four nephews and four nieces.The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday before the services at the church.The family suggests memorials to Jefferson County Hospice, sent in care of Barnett-Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, P.O.
