Ethel Mae Morris 1914 - 2007 Lawrence
Funeral services for Ethel Mae Morris, 92, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.Mrs. Morris died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2007, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.She was born Sept. 4, 1914, in Hallowell, the daughter of Harry William and Connie Marie Robins Guy. She attended school in Columbus.Mrs. Morris worked at Kress Department Store, Gambles and Tempo. She was a homemaker after she retired and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.She married Homer Harold Morris in 1932. He died May 8, 1973. Mrs. Morris was also preceded in death by a brother, Gene Guy; and three sisters, Dorothy Cooper, Mary Brumback and Pearl Coons.Survivors include two sisters, Margie Pace, Columbus, and Becky Eaton, Baxter Springs; two daughters, Wilma Ridgway and husband Willard and Margie Gentry and husband Gene, all of Lawrence; three grandchildren, Connie Hadl, Lori Moon and Marcie Hadl; seven great-grandchildren, Jessica, Ashley and Justin Hadl, Amanda and Samantha Moon, and Randy and Tyler Hadl; two great-great-grandchildren, Adrian and Corbin Lewis; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday before the services at the funeral home, where the family will receive them from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society, sent in care of the funeral home.Online condolences may be sent at <a href="http://www.rumsey-yost.com">www.rumsey-yost.com</a>.
