Alexina “Jessie” Heim

Maple Hill – Funeral services for Alexina “Jessie” Heim, 87, Topeka, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Maple Hill Congregational Church. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Heim died Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007, at her home.She was born March 9, 1920, in Maple Hill, the daughter of George and Susan Montgomery Watt. She graduated from Maple Hill School in 1938 and then from Clark’s School of Business in Topeka. Mrs. Heim worked in the Unemployment Division of the Kansas Department of Human Resources for the state of Kansas for 19 years before she retired. She also worked for Hercules Powder Company at the Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren.She married John Bernard Heim on March 21, 1941, in St. Marys. He died May 7, 1998. Mrs. Heim was also preceded in death by a twin daughter, Marilyn A. Landon, in September 2004; a son, David Heim, in infancy; and a brother, William “Billy” Watt, as a child.Survivors include a son, Michael Heim and wife Linda, Lawrence; a twin daughter, Judith Stockman and husband Joseph, Topeka; a sister, Dorothy Farr, Port Townsend, Wash.; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and many stepgreat-grandchildren.Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home in Topeka, where the family will receive them from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today.
