Vivian Juanita Moon

Funeral services for Vivian Juanita Moon, 93, Lawrence will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.Mrs. Moon died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2007, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.She was born Feb. 6, 1914, in Colony, the daughter of Phillip Henry and Cora Ethel Fletcher O’Harra. She moved to Lawrence with her mother after the death of her father in 1926.She attended public schools in Colony and Lawrence, and graduated from Liberty Memorial High in 1932.She had worked at the Parsons Ordnance Plant in Parsons during World War II. She also worked for Winter Chevrolet in Lawrence and Kansas Public Service, from which she retired in 1983.She was a member of First Baptist Church, Eagles Auxillary No. 309 and the Retired Eagles Activity Club of Aerie 309. She was a past member of Lawrence Parks and Recreation Travel Club, Topeka Travel Club and the Autumn Club. She married Jesse L. Busch in September 1933. He preceded her in death in December 1945. She married Jack G. Moon in June 1949. He preceded her in death in August 1984. A sister, Geneva Chatterton, preceded her in death in 1933. Survivors include her close friend and caretaker, Helen Edwards; a stepdaughter, Sandra Brown, Lawrence; a sister-in-law, Violet Walker; a cousin, Roberta Lamma, Prescott, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews.Friends may call from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m until noon Tuesday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today.
