Edythe Louise Norman Stevenson

Funeral services for Edythe Louise Norman Stevenson, 95, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Perry.Mrs. Stevenson died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2007, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Lawrence.She was born Nov. 11, 1911, in Lecompton, the daughter of Henry P. and Nettie F. McClure Leslie.Mrs. Stevenson worked at the Douglas County Treasurer’s Office for more than 20 years and served many terms as county treasurer. She was a member of First Christian Church and a 30-year member of the Choir, Adah Chapter 7 O.C.S., and a two-time past worthy matron and was a state representative for Eastern Star Grand Chapter. She was a member of the Quivira Club, the Historical Society of Lecompton.She married Stanley B. Norman. He died Nov. 20, 1980. She married Leslie A. Stevenson on June 4, 1982, in Lawrence. He died June 10, 2001.Survivors include three stepdaughters, Eloise Kerr, Lawrence, Leona Blaski, Clay Center, and Lucille Lundberg, Waterville; two stepsons, Raymond Stevenson, Hernando, Fla., and Mervin Norman, Junction City; two brothers, Bill Leslie, Lecompton, and Homer Leslie, Perry.Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary, where the family will receive them from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday before the services.The family suggests memorials to First Christian Church or Hospice Care in Douglas County, sent in care of the mortuary.Online condolences may be sent at www.warrenmcelwain.com, subject: Stevenson.
