Mildred Delores Jackson Clarridge 1926 - 2007 Baldwin City
Baldwin City - Memorial services for Mildred Dolores Jackson Clarridge, 80, rural Baldwin City, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home in Baldwin City. Graveside inurnment will follow in Prairie City Cemetery in Baldwin City.Ms. Clarridge died Monday, April 23, 2007, at her home.She was born July 1, 1926, the daughter of Millard B. and Matilda J. Henon Jackson. She grew up in Baldwin City and graduated from Baldwin High School in 1943. She received her bachelor's degree from Baker University and was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority. She received her master's degree from Kansas University.Ms. Clarridge was a high school math teacher and counselor for the school districts of Ottawa, Wellsville, Osage City and Atchison. She later worked as a real estate broker in Lawrence. She was a member of Lawrence United Methodist Church. She enjoyed raising and showing her horses, golfing and duck hunting.She married Glen Stecher on Aug. 22, 1945. They divorced. She married Clifford Clarridge. They divorced.Dolores is survived by two sons, Gary Stecher and wife Linda, Atchison, and Mark Stecher and wife Mary, Atchison; a brother, John Jackson and wife Anne, Baldwin City; a sister, Dorthea Jackson, Baldwin City; and five grandchildren, Jason, Michael, David, Justin and Anthony.The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home before the services.The family suggests memorials to First United Methodist Church of Lawrence, sent in care of Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, P.O. Box 64, Baldwin City 66006.
