Virginia Lee Nelson 1931 - 2007 Lawrence
Services for Virginia Lee Nelson, 76, Lawrence, will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.Mrs. Nelson died Thursday, April 19, 2007, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.She was born Feb. 12, 1931, in Frontenac, the daughter of Adolph and Claudia Plumlee DePlue.She moved to Lawrence in 1941. She was the office manager and bookkeeper at Dr. Kincaid's Dental Office.She married Ralph Nelson on Feb. 12, 1950, in Lawrence. He died May 5, 1994.Survivors include a son, Jeff Nelson, Eudora; twin daughters, Cheryl Cooper and Carol Newman, both of Lawrence; a twin sister, Betty Alexander, Lawrence; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.The family will greet friends from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.The family suggests memorials to the Douglas County Visiting Nurses Association or the American Diabetes Association, sent in care of the mortuary.Online condolences may be sent at <a href="http://www.warrenmcelwain.com">www.warrenmcelwain.com</a>, subject: Nelson.
