Stanley Norman Hubbard

A memorial service for Stanley Norman Hubbard, 61, Topeka, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Countryside United Methodist Church in Topeka. He was cremated.Mr. Hubbard died Friday, April 20, 2007.He was born Jan. 2, 1946, in Lawrence, the son of Clarence and Juanita Heinrich Hubbard. He graduated from Lawrence High School in 1964 and received his degree in secondary education from Kansas University in 1971. Mr. Hubbard served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was a partner in Steel Fixture Manufacturing Co. He previously owned Bid Facilitators and a Leavenworth business, Carpet Square. He and his wife were members of Countryside United Methodist Church and a golf club. He was a lifelong KU basketball fan and a dog lover. Stan enjoyed doing home improvement projects and taught a home improvement class. He donated his corneas.Mr. Hubbard married Linda Trueblood Rutschmann on Oct. 17, 1987. They shared almost 20 years of marriage. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include two sons, Grady and wife Julie, St. Louis, and Joel and wife Lyndsay, Leavenworth; a stepdaughter, Angela Rutschmann, Topeka; a brother, Marv, Tampa, Fla.; an uncle, Ken Hubbard and wife Marilyn, Baldwin City; his father-in-law, Edwin Trueblood, Norton; and aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home in Topeka.The family suggests memorials to Midland Hospice and the American Cancer Society, sent in care of the funeral home, 2801 S.W.
