Services for Ronald Joseph Prosser, 59, Great Bend, will be at 2 p.m. today at Holy Family Catholic Church in Odin. Burial with military honors will be at Holy Family Cemetery in Odin.Mr. Prosser died Wednesday, April 18, 2007, at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center.He was born Aug. 5, 1947, in Great Bend, the son of Joseph D. and Margaret Vigna Prosser. He was a lifelong resident of Great Bend. Mr. Prosser served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He worked for Barton County Road and Bridge, mowing ditches in summer and clearing snow in winter.He was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick, American Legion Argonne Post No. 180 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 3111, and had been a member of Boy Scout Troop 149. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and golden retriever, Tory.Mr. Prosser married Mauricia “Mish” Lea Day on April 7, 1973, in Arkansas City. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include his mother, Great Bend; two sons, Doug, Great Bend, and Mark and wife Kim, Claflin; a daughter, Kristen Walker and husband Rick, Lawrence; two sisters, Judy Johnson and husband Jim, Great Bend, and Mary Jo Radcliff and husband Dan, Independence, Kan.; a brother-in-law, Jim Day and wife Karen, Overland Park; two nephews, Darin Johnson and Jeffrey Radcliff; two nieces, September Troxel and husband Brett, Killeen, Texas, and Denise Dibble and husband Jay, Houston.He was preceded in death by his grandparents, his father and a sister, Karen Sue Prosser.The family suggests memorials to Claflin Ambulance Fund, sent in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Road, Great Bend 67530.Online condolences may be sent at www.bryantfh.net.
