Helen Frances Bliss

Funeral services for Helen Frances Bliss, 79, Hooker, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Hardesty United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Hartville Cemetery in Hardesty.Mrs. Bliss died Sunday, April 15, 2007, in Liberal, Kan.She was born April 6, 1928, in Atchison, Kan., the daughter of Fred C. and Helen Hibner Wagner.Mrs. Bliss was a civilian cook for the U.S. Army at Fort Sill in Lawton, and worked as a cook at Kansas University in Lawrence, Kan. She was a Girl Scout leader.Survivors include three daughters, Norma Jean Whellock, Lawrence, Nancy Sifford, Adams, and Sandra Beals, Beebe, Ark.; two stepsons, Richard Bliss, Ruth, Nev., and Phillip Bliss, Enterprise, Kan.; 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.Mrs. Bliss was preceded in death by two great-grandchildren.Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker is in charge of arrangements.
