Kathryn Lee Harris 1919 - 2007 Lawrence
Private inurnment services for Kathryn Lee Harris, 87, Lawrence, will be in Eudora Cemetery at a later date.Mrs. Harris died Tuesday, April 10, 2007, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. She was born Sept. 8, 1919, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of William S. and Kathryn S. Johnston Gabel. She was a resident of Lawrence since 1953.Mrs. Harris worked for the School of Pharmacy at Kansas University for 30 years. She and her husband participated in the Eagles and Shriners organizations. She was a member of Country Community Church of Lawrence.She married Earl F. Harris on March 16, 1943, in Kansas City, Mo. He died July 18, 2003.Survivors include a daughter, Lynda L. Heikes, Lawrence; a sister, Rosemary Cumpston, Lawrence; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence.The family suggests memorials to the Lawrence Humane Society, sent in care of the mortuary.
