Virginia Marie Trovillion Hopkins
Bloomfield, Neb. – Funeral services for Virginia Marie Trovillion Hopkins, 84, Bloomfield, will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Christ Memorial United Methodist Church in Bloomfield. Burial will be in Bloomfield Cemetery.Mrs. Hopkins died Friday, April 6, 2007, at Creighton Area Health Services.She was born Dec. 30, 1922, in Vinland, Kan., the daughter of John A. Lonnie and Wilma Crouch Trovillion. She grew up in Lawrence, Kan., and moved to Nebraska in November of 1968. She attended pastoral schooling with her husband in Dallas. Mrs. Hopkins was a pastor’s wife and homemaker. She worked as a patrol woman at Sunflower Ordnance Defense plant during World War II and the Korean War. She later worked in the office of Lawrence Memorial Hospital. She volunteered for many charitable organizations and held offices and positions on the local district and conference of the United Methodist Church in Kansas and Nebraska. She also was a foster mother to 15 children.She married Robert L. Hopkins on April 6, 1940. He survives, of the home.Other survivors include four sons, Kenneth and Larry Hopkins and Herman and Bill Kaemmerling; a daughter, Alice Buschkamp; three sisters, Dorothy Moon, Geraldine Hammig and Darlene Pennack; 19 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.Mrs. Hopkins was preceded in death by a son, Robert Hopkins.The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Brockhaus Funeral Home in Bloomfield.The family suggests memorials to the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation, P.O.
