Funeral services for Archie Dale Wagner, 86, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church. Graveside services with military honors will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Mr. Wagner died Thursday, April 5, 2007, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. He was born May 25, 1920, in York, Neb., the son of Archie C. and Isabelle Mannon Wagner.Mr. Wagner served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II in the China, Burma and India theaters. He worked as a construction supervisor with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and retired in 1994 after 38 years of service.He was a member of First United Methodist Church, American Legion Dorsey-Liberty Post No. 14 and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.He married Frances Dreier on Dec. 20, 1941, in Concordia. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include a daughter, Marcia Johnson, Kansas City, Mo.; three sons, Terry, Perry, Iowa, Randy, Scottsdale, Ariz., and Timothy, Eudora; two grandsons; three stepgrandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sharen Ann Wagner.Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until the service Wednesday at the church.
