Wilbert Calvin Dillahunty

Services for Wilbert Calvin Dillahunty, 75, Kansas City, Mo., will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Monica Catholic Church in Kansas City, Mo. Burial will be in Leavenworth National Cemetery.Mr. Dillahunty died Wednesday, March 28, 2007, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.He was born March 28, 1932, in De Queen, Ark., the son of Buster and Willie May Dillahunty. He graduated from Sevier County High School. He attended Langston University for two years.Mr. Dillahunty served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and received a Purple Heart. He worked for West Vaco Corp. for 30 years and for Wal-Mart. He was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity.His wife, Yvonne Dillahunty, survives, of the home.Other survivors include four sons, Byron Dillahunty, Edmond, Okla., Geary Dillahunty, San Pablo, Calif., Joe Boyles, Dallas, and Gary Hopkins, Kansas City, Mo.; three daughters, Tonya Griffin, Spencer, Okla., Tina McCrary, Midwest City, Okla., and Collis Edwards, Duluth, Ga.; a brother, Charles Dillahunty; five sisters, Elois Davis, Anita Martin and Gloria Johnson, all of Lawrence, Kan., Doris Lindsey, Eudora, Kan., and Billie Jean Mitchell, Lecompton, Kan.; 22 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.A son, Patrick Hopkins, and a grandson died earlier.Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday at the church.
