Julia Ann Dagenais

Services for Julia Ann Dagenais, 81, Wichita, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Woodland United Methodist Church in Wichita.Mrs. Dagenais died Saturday, March 31, 2007.She was born Sept. 4, 1925, in Wilsey, the daughter of Clair L. and Eula Imogene Compton Casad.She graduated from Atchison High School and Kansas University.She earned a master’s degree in English from Wichita State University in 1969 and taught English to high school students in Andale and Wichita. She was an adjunct professor in English at Friends University in Wichita.Mrs. Dagenais was past president of the Kansas Author’s Club, served on the Board of Directors of the Kansas State Historical Society, and was a member of the National League of American Pen Women and the Scandinavian Society of Wichita.She married Ralph Dagenais on June 17, 1946. He survives, of the home.Other survivors include a son, John Dagenais, of Culver City, Calif.; two daughters, Janet Brown, Wichita, and Jane, Syracuse, N.Y.; two brothers, Charles Casad, Rosenburg, Ore., and Robert Casad, Lawrence; and five grandchildren.The family suggests memorials to Woodland United Methodist Church or Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.
